My Family is Weirder Than Yours (and More of My Life in Stick Figures)

So, this is the return of the stick figures of my family. In the past week (actually, it hasn't even been an entire week) I have observed my family and their oddities (er, our oddities) so I can prove to you that my family is weirder than yours. All of my cartoons are pretty much recreations of what was actually said, except, y'know, my family members wear clothes and have... flesh...

Oh, and for the record, my dad doesn't actually have blue hair, that was just the colour of the marker (stupid markers that LOOK black but aren't!)

Exhibit A

We spent all of last week analyzing my brother because he was sick, and came up with the conclusion that he needs to express his feelings more.

Exhibit B

My parents and I had a late-night discussion last week about... Star Wars.

Exhibit C

...and then my dad and I discussed and researched the difference between a "nerd" and a "geek". (Yes, I ask a lot of weird questions...)

Exhibit D

I was watching my brother the other day when he was looking for the ketchup in our pantry closet, and then all of a sudden he steps inside the pantry and closes the door behind him!

Exhibit E

Sometimes we burst into song randomly. (Okay, mostly my dad and I, but the rest of my family has done it, too.)

Exhibit F

This just... doesn't make sense.

Well, I had recently told my dad a story about a relay race where kids had to put petroleum jelly on their  noses and use it to get cotton balls out of a bowl, but normal people just don't say these things suddenly in other conversations which have nothing to do with the topic, which is what my dad did.

Exhibit G

My dad thinks this lame calculus joke is the most hilarious thing in the world. You can read the joke here. If you've taken calculus and you think it's funny, well... maybe you and my dad can be friends.

Exhibit H

According to my mom, my dad cries "at the drop of a bucket". :)

...and if that's not enough proof that my family is weirder than yours, well... I don't even know. Anyway, if you DO want to prove that your family is weirder than mine, give me proof in your own blog post or in the comments. I know my sister wasn't in any of these cartoons, but trust me, she's weird too.

How is your family weird??

What Winter In Canada REALLY Looks Like: The Stick Figure Version

Hey guys! Well, I have decided that it is time for some more amazing drawings of mine. Right?? Ha. Anyway. The reason why I decided to illustrate my life in the 6 or so months of winter in Canada is because I have to deal with a lot of Canadian sterotypes in my day to day life (okay, not in my day to day life, or really that often at all...) so I decided to show you the truth!

...Although actually it's really pointless since Canada is such a large country and stretches from one ocean to another, so there are lots of varying climates. Like where I live we get tons of snow and cold, yet on the East or West coast (where the oceans are), there's not very much snow or cold at all.

And maybe I just want it to snow already, and I am wallowing in my sadness by dreaming and drawing about winter.

ON WITH THE DRAWINGS!

The #1 Question Asked At Halloween: Will this costume fit over my snowsuit?

This is how I feel right now... SNOW!!!

I wish those purple boots existed in my real life... although it's probably a good thing my drawings aren't real life because then I would be a stick figure. And I wouldn't have a nose.

Despite the fact that it snows a lot, we NEVER HAVE SNOW DAYS. Life isn't fair.

One time in middle school there was an icestorm in April and the power went out at school... unfortunately not long enough to justify sending us home. :P

And we've come full circle....

So, folks, that is winter where I live...
What is YOUR winter like?? Are you enjoying some snow right now? No? Is it even winter where you live? :D

In Which A Blog Award Makes A Debut

I am awful at sending on blog awards... I said that I got the Liebster award on... um, August 9th. And now I'm going to finally post about it (yeah, and I started this post a few weeks ago and I put it off until... NOW). Oh, dear... except I HAVE AN AWESOME SOMETHING. Yes, stay tuned. My drawing is involved.

So I received the Liebster ("friend" in German, apparently) award from a whopping three other bloggers.

Jenny who said I was "spunky,  funny, and a teenager.  I love that there are so many young writers out there!" (First time being called spunky, yay! :D), Brittany who said that my blog posts are "sometimes funny and sometimes thoughtful", and Lizzy (co-blogger of Twin Moment who said "I don't know much about Gracie, but I know two things for certain: One, she writes. Two, she's awesome. Gracie is a sincerely creative writer, reader, and glue-gun wielder who just happens to blog. There's a great personality behind the writing, which makes it totally enjoyable to read. Trust me when I say it's worth your time!"

No, I did not share all those quotes because they make me feel warm and fuzzy and special (pffftttt *ahem*) but because it is obvious from the awesome things they say about people that THEY ARE AWESOME. There ya go. ;)

And now I will proceed to BREAK THE RULES because I am a rebel like that. (Ha!) The Liebster blog has five rules (uhh which I forget) and I'm breaking them because....

INTRODUCING....

THIS:

I have made my own blog award (in case you missed that from the "blog award" and the "made by gracie"). It is a lion because I am keeping with the lion theme of my blog. :) Also, because it is my award, I am going to make up the rules. So, rules:

1. When you receive the award, post the picture! (Hey, I spent a whole fifteen minutes on that Paint drawing. And it's pretty good, considering I did it on Paint, and only using my laptop touchpad. Well, except for the fact that the roaring lion actually just looks sleepy...)
2. Pass on the award. I don't care how many people, as long as you do it. :)
3. In case you haven't figured it out, if you receive the Roaring Lion Blog Award it means that you are awesome.

So the very privileged first-ever-people-to-receive-my-award are:

1. Twin Moment, a blog by two teens (Lizzy and Constance) who are cool.  Their blog layout is awesome, they like classical music, and they're really sweet. :)

2. Jenny, who I only recently started following but I love her writing style and the content in her posts. I'm looking forward to reading more. :)

3. Brittany of Hills and Corkscrews. Her posts are always thought-provoking and bring up good discussion. I like how she presents opinions and then encourages others to share theirs!

OK, then. I think that will be all for now. Go and pass it on!

Oh, wow. I just realized I gave an award to the three people who gave me an award. Honestly, I did NOT do that on purpose! I really do like these people and their blogs, and believe me it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact they gave me an award.

(Also, my brother said that I should stop doing "boring" posts -as the question series I did didn't interest him- and I have a few things planned okay, not planned but... I have ideas in my head... to come in the next week-or-so. Hopefully.)

Have a good week!

Some Of My Life In Stick Figures

First of all: GUESS WHAT!? I have accomplished something amazing, my FIRST EVER guest post!! Brittany Clarke at The Balancing Act asked me to write something for her blog post series (is that what you call them?) "Where I Go" (I think you can participate if you want to...). Anyway, check that post out HERE!! It was amazingly fun and a lot more challenging than I thought it would be (but that's a good thing). And if you want me to do a guest post for you, I'd be happy to! Just send me an e-mail: kazuntai101[at]gmail[dot]com.

Now onto today's post...

-----

Ever since someone commented on the drawing in this post, I've been thinking about showcasing my amazing (ha!) drawings, you know, just for fun. And then in the past week I have been bombarded with ideas for cartoons. Most of them courtesy of my kooky family. So here's some of my life, a la stick figures:

In case you can't read my amazing calligraphy, the bottom sentence says:
"People Who Think All Canadians Speak French Have Never Met My Dad"

The Pillow Take-over happens EVERY NIGHT.

Does this happen to anyone else?? Anyone?? (I love you, Mom!)
So, yeah. All these are based on my actual life. "Based" because otherwise we are all made of sticks and have the sameish colour hair and we also don't have noses, toes, fingers, or ears. Also, just in case anyone was wondering, everyone in my family is not the same height. My brother is fifteen feet tall, my dad is around fourteen feet, my mom at twelve feet, me thirteen feet and... my sister is about three feet. She walks around on stilts constantly in order to not have a sore neck by the end of the day from looking/talking up at us. (Ha! Just kidding... that would be cool though. And that is the order of height for my family from tallest-shortest: bro, dad, mom, me, sis.)

I have no good wrap-up tonight... so instead I'll just do this:

WHY I NEED A NEW BRAIN:

IM Conversation I Had With My Friend A Few Nights Ago

Me: What are you doing?
Friend: talking to you, sitting on my bed, debating whether or not to go to sleep, watching friends
Me: Watching friends? Hmm... like stalking? ;)
Friend: it's a tv show dingbat
Me: What's a TV show dingbat?
Pause. Wait for it.
Me: Oh
Me: I'm a dingbat
Me: the tv show Friends -_-;

THE END.
